Maham Khan

Registered Social Worker

Life can be complex, whether it’d be as we navigate our identity and experiences, mental health, relationships, or the systems we live in. As we move through this, it’s okay not to go through it alone and seek support.

As a therapist, I strongly believe that each one of us has internal strength and resilience, and the best investment we can make is in ourselves.

I aim to work with you with a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and

anti-oppressive lens.

Your experiences and voice matter, and therapy sessions should be unique to your needs. Therefore, my priority is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and creative space for our sessions together.

I am also fluent in Urdu, and as a woman being raised as a First-Generation Canadian in a South-Asian household I have lived through managing my guilt, boundaries, and identity. I apply a compassionate and culturally appropriate lens to support you in managing yours.

A little about myself, I am a registered clinical social worker. I graduated from the University of Toronto with a double major in mental health and political science. I believe in giving back to the community and have put in years of work in the Scarborough community working with diverse populations. After completing years of work supporting and advocating for youth, refugees/newcomers, children and families and adults in mental health and non-profit agencies, I completed a master’s in social work from the Factor-inWentash, University of Toronto to pursue my passion in being an excelling therapist as a woman of colour!
