We all experience different situations in life. The varying circumstances of our childhood as well as those in more recent memory, shape our view of the world we live in. My goal is to help you look at things from a holistic and objective approach. It is human nature to be our own harshest critic, but it is also important to recognize when this is more harmful than helpful. As a social worker, I employ a variety of techniques to assist you in learning about what it is that you are feeling, and what the source of those feelings are. Using a narrative approach, I invite you to tell your story as it makes sense through your eyes, and work with you to challenge the attitudes you may hold about yourself and the world around you. My goal is to help create a more objective view of your situation.

During your session, we may also employ cognitive restructuring techniques to help you reframe the situation with curiosity. By challenging your thoughts and attitudes with the use of approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), we can challenge the emotions you are experiencing, and in turn, change your coping behaviours. You can be an agent of change, and in finding yourself here, you are taking an active role in the process. I am proud of your willingness to take this first step!

My approach will always be client-centred. I believe you are the expert in your own life. Applying a range of social theories, I will help you create a profile of your life, your circumstances, and where you want to be. This will help you to unlearn harmful negative attitudes - ones that you may not have even known were present. I put you at the forefront of our conversation so we can establish the best ways in which to empower you and provide you with the tools to move forward. Specializing in anxiety management and depression, I will ensure my approach is tailored to meeting you where you are at currently and will work with you to set you up for emotional relief. Whether you are struggling with relationship issues, work stress, loss, loneliness, or any other intense emotions, know that I am here with you to feel it, and will assist you in understanding the meaning behind those feelings.
