Rebecca Wilkes
Registered Social Worker
I am a Registered Social Worker with over 14 years of experience in health and social services. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Honors Criminology from the University of Windsor in 2005, a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor in 2012 and my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Waterloo. I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
I have gained extensive experience in various community and hospital-based settings, in rural, remote and urban centers, working with adolescents, adults and seniors.
I work from a non-judgmental, client-centered, trauma-informed, feminist, anti-oppressive, anti-Black racism, and anti-Indigenous racism approaches.
I live and work in a rural community with my spouse and three dogs, Ralph, Roxy and Sadie. I am a bookworm and like learning new things, especially regarding growth and development as a therapist. I am currently attending BCIT online to obtain an advanced certificate in Healthcare Leadership. I love watching crime TV shows or documentaries. I take myself and the dogs out for nature walks in the bush. Before the pandemic, I played beach and court volleyball all year long and enjoyed spending time with my friends.
